Tell Your Story Festival 2023!

I recently had the pleasure of Production and Technical Managing Cherwell Theatre Company’s Tell Your Story Festival 2023! This was the second iteration of the festival which took place between vacant retail units in Banbury’s Castle Quay shopping centre and the Mill Arts Centre just around the corner. Starting the creative process in April 2023, we worked closely with our designer, Raphaella Philcox to deliver the festival’s vision. The key goal of the festival was to engage children and young adults in Banbury with the creative and performing arts, whilst also showcasing the work of the young people from Cherwell Theatre Company.

In addition to Production and Technical Management services, BG Productions supplied all of the lighting, sound, video and power distribution for the event in addition to the digital signage at The Glade, The Twilight Gallery and the Mill Arts Centre. It was also the first outing for our GLP Impression 120RZ moving head wash lights, now available for hire. To find out more about our services or hire products, check out our services page!

The first piece of work we created was this video, published by Cherwell Theatre Company to introduce some of the young people and what they were looking forward to as part of the event.

The Festival Spaces

  • The Twilight Gallery - a showcase of visual art from local groups involved in the event, along with visual art workshops, a sensory experience space and an intimate performance space for acoustic & poetry performance in addition to film screenings.

  • The Discovery Space - a stage in the Castle Quay shopping centre with local choir and walk up attended performances in addition to events like special effects make up demonstrations.
